The end? Or the beginning...

As Sam says to Frodo- the story goes on and on, and we are still in it! I am going to investigate a new blog format geared toward music ministry resources and leadership development, but for now there will be no more postings.

For those that come here just for the pictures, please join facebook and friend me (if you aren't on it yet, shame on you anyway!).

Where do we go from here?

Well, I haven't posted in a few weeks...I think it's the first long break in almost a year.

I'm rethinking my goals for the blog and whether or not blogging can still fit into my schedule, so there probably won't be anything more until after Christmas.

BTW- please come to The River's Christmas Experiences! www.therivercc.net

Preview for November 8th

I gotta stop making predictions about my return to video blogging!

We start a new series at the River centered around generosity, finances, life and the church. Given our current economic climate, I'd say this series will have useful and inspiring content for everyone.

We are trying out a new praise tune. If you want to hear it before Sunday, youtube- Giving It All by Michael Gungor Band. Also on tap, a song by the up and coming Leeland.

See you there! JIM

Preview for November 1st

Well, this is the time of year that is the busiest for me because I'm hard at work preparing Christmas music for The River! I hope to begin video blogging again next week.

This is the last in our Reset series, so don't miss it! We're talking about the church and what we, as an organization and movement, should be all about.

We are premiering a very cool video/live element about the history of what we have done as a church over the last 7 years. There is also a very cool interview with someone on the front lines of ministry in the heart of Detroit.

As usual I don't want to give too much away! This is a great Sunday to invite a friend, don't forget to spread the word...JIM

preview for October 25th

Sorry, ran out of time for a video preview. Kept thinking I'd do it each night and time got away from me.

Still, going to be a fun one tomorrow, and challenging in terms of our pray life. If you want to figure out what prayer is all about, or if you want to learn a new pattern for prayer, don't miss it.

I wrote a tune with lyrics from an old hymn- Lord I Have Shut the door. Gwynne is singing it and knocking it out of the park! Aral wrote a drama too and it is very cool.

So, see you tomorrow! JIM
